So a big part of building a business in getting out there and connecting with the community, and trust me, I have been taking all the opportunities I can. I have started booking so many meetings with people that I may need to invest in Starbucks stock soon!
All kidding aside, I love it. It is great to talk to people and see what they are up to, see if there is some opportunity to do business together, and sometimes just share cool ideas. On that path… I am going to the GROW Conference on August 19-21 in Whistler, BC.
What is GROW?
I think the best thing to do here is quote the website:
We created the GROW conference to help entrepreneurs build the next billion dollar company. GROW is about the future of innovation, growth and entrepreneurship. It is a curated environment that brings together technology pioneers, founders, executives, influencers and investors who are passionate about identifying problems worth solving.
It is an awesome conference if you are an entrepreneur for multiple reasons. The first obvious one is the people attending the conference — there is an awesome group of people running companies, funding companies, and others looking for co-founders. I am really looking forward to collaborating and sharing some value with them.
The next big thing is the speakers — and this year’s list is pretty amazing. There are people from Google, Shopify, Recon Instruments, Under Armour, Evernote, and a lot of Venture Capitalists. The amount of lessons learned and ideas from this panel is going to be great. Can you tell I’m super pumped?!
You can find the whole list of the speakers here.
What do I want to get out of GROW?
I have three main objectives in attending the conference:
- Network — reconnect and discover new connections,
- Learn — a… lot… and then some,
- Discover — I’m eyes all open at this stage in my journey, so I will be looking at opportunity to do business with others, partnership opportunities, and whatever else comes my way.
If I can check those three things off, I will have achieved my goals for attending the conference. If not, well it is in Whistler and the weather looks to be promising so at worst I will spend a great couple of days in an awesome location!
Are you going to GROW?
If you are, please let me know! I’d welcome the opportunity to meet and speak with you more. Please contact me at this link or leave a comment on this post!
